St Wilfrids Roman Catholic Church, Northwich
Welcome To The Church
The Year of St. Mark's Gospel
The Ascension of the Lord
He was taken up into heaven: there at the right hand of God he took his place.
Mark 16:19
We are a warm, friendly and faith filled parish in the centre of Northwich, a pleasant mid Cheshire town, surrounded by canals, and home of the Salt Museum.
The Church is a Grade two listed building dating back to 1865, one of the architectural gems adding character to the inner landscape of the town. It has been refurbished to make it a more fitting place for the celebration of the Liturgy in accordance with the norms of the Second Vatican Council. The Church is open at times outside of community prayer and worship, providing a welcoming oasis of calm for those seeking a quiet moment.
Northwich is an expanding area, and the parish too has grown in recent years. We are proud of the richness of the tradition we have inherited, and strive to be a community that is welcoming and outward looking, - that values the contribution of everyone.
We are part of Churches Together in Northwich and welcome those opportunities for worshipping together and witnessing to our Christian faith. We have formed a special relationship with the Salvation Army in responding in practical ways to the needs of the homeless in our town and district.
We hope that you will get a flavour of the spiritual and communal life of our parish in visiting our website, and that you will find a genuine Christian welcome whenever you can come in person.
